About Memorial
Development of Chorwad :
Chorwad, a coastal village turned town in proximity of Junagadh & Somnath, was once a tourist place because of its scenic coast-line and dense coconut trees. Eventually, it came to lime light as the name and fame of Dhirubhai Ambani, founder chairman of Reliance grew nationally and internationally. Dhirubhai (and Kokilaben for that matter) held Chorwad closed to their heart as they spent their early days in Chorwad prior to going to Aden (Now Yemen). It is obvious, therefore that, Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) and Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation have always been on forefront when it comes to development of Chorwad, native of Dhirubhai Ambani.

Shri Dhirubhai Ambani is a source of inspiration for lakhs of youngsters, who cherish dreams of being successful entrepreneurs. Lots of youth are coming to visit DHA memorial with curiosity, interest and as a part of their research to know about life of Sh. Dhirubhai Ambani.

Amid hectic life style, Dhirubhai used to take out time to visit Chorwad with family. Kokilaben & other family members still do that. Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial is latest tourist attraction to the visitors of Gir, Junagadh, Somnath, Diu, Porbandar etc.

Many public amenities and infrastructure has been developed by the company and the foundation and handed over to the local bodies and people of Chorwad.

Located on Veraval - Porbandar high way, Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial House is created in fond memory of Dhirubhai Ambani. It was a place earlier known as 'Mangarolvalano Delo' where Dhirubhai spent his childhood days. His father, a primary teacher, had rented a tiny portion of this large traditional dwelling place. The property was wholely purchased in 2002 by Ambani family. The giant size doors and a window entrance, elevation of the large building etc. is kept unchanged. The portion where Dhirubhai stayed is replicated as it was in his time with typical brass-copper utensils, house hold utility items, wooden furniture etc. Memorial is maintained by Dhirubhai Ambani foundation. It remains open for public between 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday for public. It is closed on Monday. :
